Biography

Increased Control (real name Giovanni Torricelli) is a sound designer and composer, born in Florence and based in Berlin.

As a child, he felt a natural attraction for video games and films with dystopian plots and post-apocalyptic scenarios. He was fascinated by sci-fi, dramatic cinema, thrillers, and dark/noir atmospheres, drawn to the strange, undefinable feelings they evoke and the left-field melancholic musical component that characterizes them.

Over time, he has sought ways to give shape to these sensations through audiovisual work, exploring dramatic and dystopian soundscapes that gradually defined his sonic identity. He experiments with sound in unconventional ways to spark creativity and shape his ideas into tangible forms.

Exploring abandoned and decaying spaces that echo memories of his adolescence, he finds inspiration and creates soundscapes that fuse modular, analog, and digital synthesis with complex audio processing into immersive and personal worlds.

His attempt is to guide the listener to surrender to the passage of time, letting go to get in touch with the deepest, most primal part of themselves, embracing every emotion and the pleasure of facing and encountering our most primordial fears.
